Hello! My name is Tung Duong. I am an Applications Software Developer at University of Miami. I'm a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Summa Cum Laude - Latin Honors (GPA: 3.92/4.0). I also obtained an Associate of Science in Computer Support Specialist Option with High Honors (GPA: 3.84/4.0) from Bunker Hill Community College and was honored as Ranked 1st student among all the students in AS Computer Support Specialist Program. I have won many prestigious scholarships and awards such as:
- Winner of the Paul M. English '87 Computer Science Endowed Scholarship ($10,000) from Computer Science Department of Umass Boston.
- Received the Academic Excellence Award (High Honors) from the Department of Academic Achievement Awards of BHCC.
About my experience,
- I am a member of the Professional Apprenticeship and Career Experience program (PACE) of IT department at Umass Boston. My experience here has helped me to understand real work data sets, data & time management, and troubleshooting techniques. This will help me in problem-solving skills of the computer science major to correct any malfunctions in databases as well as develop the software.
- I also have 2 years of work experience doing to troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system issues for LCT Computer and this has given me team-work skills, as well as the ability to work confidently as an in individual. I am a committed person. Beside, I worked at Phone repair. This is help me a lot for focus anything in the details.
- My focus and interest in math (my part time job was math tutor) and coding has provided a groundwork of knowledge that will be needed for the job relate computer science. I also have excellent skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- With what I learned from classes about programming, algorithms, data structures, graphics, etc. from basic to advanced as well as what I have used in projects. I was able to apply techniques related to Java, Python, C++, C#, Scheme, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Three.js, WebGL, Unity, Blender, Git, VM, Visual Studio, Sublime Text, IntelliJ, PyCharm, MS Office, etc. to solve problems.
